FUNDRAISING
All chapters fundraise for their own projects. This can seem to be a difficult task at first, but most chapters find it gets easier with time. By creating a solid long term relationship with successful phases of projects, chapter establish credibility. Below you will find ideas for starting to raise funds for your projects.
| EWB-USA Grants |
EWB-USA has grants that EWB-USA Chapters can apply for in the spring and fall. They are only advertised through projects e-mails that are sent out to presidents, vice presidents and faculty advisors. In order to receive prompt notification, make sure all your contact information is up to date with EWB-USA.
The EWB-USA Education Board is offering a limited number of grants for $250 to EWB-USA College Student Chapters to establish or enhance programs with pre-college schools (K-12) or organizations (e.g., Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc.) and work on local projects. Deadline for submission is 10/15/07. For more information and an application, click here. |
| Outside Grants |
There are many grants all over the world that fund EWB-USA projects. Some examples are the EPA's P3 award and Mondialogo. Grants do take some time to prepare and all grants that will be using EWB-USA must be reviewed by the grants coordinator before being submitted. Please contact Grants at EWB-USA for more information. |
| School Fees |
Some chapters have been successful at having their chapter receive a small portion of school fees. Often this involves a petition and a lot of campaigning, but it can be worth it in the end. |
Before starting to raise funds, please read through the EWB-USA Financial information so that your chapter does not have to return funds or participate in an audit!
