How Matched Gifts Multiply Impact, And Help Us Build Tomorrow, Together
Every year, thousands of people step forward to support Engineers Without Borders USA. Their generosity fuels clean water systems, strengthens community resilience, and empowers the next generation of humanitarian engineers. But for one week this November, every act of generosity will go even further.
From November 24–30, every gift to EWB-USA will be tripled, thanks to a special 2:1 match sponsored by our Board of Directors alongside a generous anonymous donor, up to $75,000 in matching funds. That means a $50 donation becomes $150. A $200 gift becomes $600. And together, we unlock the momentum that carries our work into 2026.
This match couldn’t come at a more important moment. Across the humanitarian and development sectors, organizations are facing funding gaps, rising needs, and profound uncertainty. Yet the communities we serve, and the volunteers who stand beside them, are moving forward with determination and hope. Your support helps meet this moment with strength.
And here are the areas where matched giving truly amplifies what we can build together.
Partnering with Communities
Every project we take on, from Namengo, Uganda, to the Navajo Nation, is designed hand-in-hand with the people and local organizations who know their community best. When gifts are tripled, it means more materials, more testing, and more long-term stability for the systems local leaders will maintain long after a project team leaves.
Take Westwater, Utah, for example. For decades, 23 Diné households worked tirelessly, alongside Navajo Nation leaders, state partners, and local advocates, to overcome the unusual legal and jurisdictional barriers that kept their community from accessing basic services. Their persistence led to major breakthroughs: electricity in 2022 and, by 2025, a nearly completed community-led water system.
As the finish line approached, three households still faced a barrier to connection: their wastewater systems couldn’t be permitted due to challenging bedrock conditions. Rather than leaving these final families behind, the Navajo Nation Department of Water Resources invited our CECorps program to support the community’s ongoing efforts. Our volunteer engineers collaborated with tribal partners to assess each site, explore alternatives, and design septic solutions that met Indian Health Service permitting standards. With construction funded and completed through IHS, the final households were able to connect, bringing running water to every home in Westwater for the first time.
This story wasn’t defined by outside support alone, but of community determination, intergovernmental partnership, and engineering support that honored local leadership. And this type of communityโdriven partnership is made possible by donors whose support strengthens the work local leaders are already driving forward.
Your generosity literally lays the foundation for systems that last.
Developing Leaders
EWB-USA is one of the largest engines of experiential STEM learning in the country, providing mentorship, networking, and hands on engineering and project management experience to new and seasoned engineers alike, from 18 to 80. Donor generosity supports our network of mentors and builds the student and professional leadership pipeline our world needs.
When your gift is tripled, it fuels:
- Student project reviews and mentorship
- Training that helps young engineers center empathy as much as technical rigor
- Tools and equipment that prepare students and professionals to build with communities, not for them
Leadership development multiplies impact long after a single project is complete. A matched gift makes that multiplier even more powerful.
Building a Better World
Matched giving helps communities prepare for the future: climate resilience, safer water access, renewable energy solutions, and infrastructure systems designed to withstand tomorrow’s challenges.
This is the heart of our Building Tomorrow, Together movement. We are not just responding to urgent needs, we’re engineering hope, stability, and long-term opportunity alongside communities.
During match week, every dollar you give becomes part of a larger movement advancing:
- Climate-ready design
- Cleaner, safer water
- Stronger infrastructure at home and around the world
- Equitable access to engineering expertise
Your impact multiplies, just like your gift.
You’re Joining a Community of Changemakers
The match is generous, but the real power comes from people like you. When you give during this match window, you join a movement of thousands of others choosing to believe in a future where every community has the tools to thrive.
$50 → $150 helps fund early assessments and site visits.
$100 → $300 supports water testing kits and analysis.
$250 → $750 moves communities closer to safe, reliable infrastructure.
From November 24–30, your gift is tripled. Your impact is tripled. Your hope is tripled.
Give today and triple your impact.
